Peter is no stranger to the world of corporate compliance. He started off his training in London in 1980 and became a chartered accountant in 1984. He subsequently came back to Malaysia in 1987 and joined KPMG Malaysia. During his tenure in KPMG, he was put in various leadership positions over the years such as heading the Ipoh branch, as well as being the Head of Audit for KPMG Malaysia. He retired as Audit Partner in 2014, after 27 years with the firm.
Post retirement, he was appointed by various PLCs both in Malaysia and Singapore, as an Independent Non-Executive Director. He currently wields responsibilities as Audit Committee Chairman in all the PLCs he sits on and on their Risk Management Committee, Nominating Committee, Remuneration Committee and Sustainability Committee as either Chairman or member.
Joslyn has a Master in Sustainable Development Management from Sunway University, and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University of South Australia.
She has more than 12 years working experience in various industries such as financial audits, advisory and sustainability advisory. Her current sustainability advisory portfolio includes handholding for a listed issuer from setting up of its Sustainability Working Group (“SWG”), to reviewing of collection of sustainability data, drafting an appropriate sustainability initiatives and reporting roadmap, as well as drafting of the company’s annual Sustainability Statement for its Annual Report. On top of that, she also serviced a multinational company, based out of Singapore, in their various sustainability initiatives, such as drafting of sustainability-related training modules for internal staff, as well as producing content for the purposes of stakeholder education.
She is currently pursuing the Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) Credential, a certification issued by the IFRS Foundation.
Ian is an ICAEW chartered accountant with more than 5 years of working experience in providing financial and internal process audits. In addition, as a holder of the ICAEW’s Sustainability Certificate and a Certified Internal Auditor under the Institute of Internal Auditors, he is familiar with the various sustainability risks that organisations face in this era.
The areas which he has worked on in relation to sustainability reporting for a listed issuer includes assisting in the development of an audit programme for the internal review of the eleven common material sustainability matters, providing recommendations for the improvement of data collection processes, drafting of the Statement of Assurance for publication in the Annual Report. In terms of servicing clients, he has also worked on drafting the Sustainability Statement as well as reviewing performance targets.
